September 8, 2026 (WASHINGTON) – The Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network (MFAN) today announced two additions to its bipartisan coalition: Project HOPE and Results for Development (R4D). These new members underscore MFAN’s critical work to shape U.S. international assistance during a period of significant change. Their addition further expands the range of our MFAN’s expertise, spanning nearly every facet of the U.S. international assistance community — humanitarian responders, health systems builders, applied researchers, transparency and accountability advocates, as well as locally led development practitioners.
That range is not incidental. Despite the turmoil in the sector, MFAN's organizational membership has grown by nearly 40 percent in the past year, reflecting the full set of disciplines that effective, accountable international assistance requires.
"Project HOPE and Results for Development each bring a distinct vantage point on what effective assistance looks like in practice – one that is rooted in frontline health delivery and crisis response, and the other in the evidence base for what works at scale in health, education, and nutrition systems," said Tod Preston, MFAN Executive Director. "Their addition is a reminder that reform is not the work of any single actor, but of an ecosystem working in concert from direct implementation and applied research to advocacy.”
Founded in 1958, Project HOPE is a global health and humanitarian organization that trains frontline health workers, strengthens health systems, and delivers emergency medical assistance in more than 25 countries around the world.
